SHOP MY LOOK
Leather leggings are everywhere this season. And I love them! I think it’s the type of item that can be super bold and make a statement, yet can help you to create a basic look without any effort.
In this post I share with you my favourite outfits with leather leggings. Some are basic and others can be a little controversial. But that’s the beauty of personal style: we reinvent ourselves every day and invert the norms over and over.
The basic style: completely covered
The most common tip for leggings is: wear a shirt / sweater that covers your butt. I don’t believe it’s a rule you always have to follow (and I don’t follow it that much) but it’s an easy way for beginners to the leggings world.
Leggings are tight and sometimes we don’t feel too comfortable revealing too much. Wearing a long and loose shirt makes everything easier.
And if you’re thinking it can be too casual, here is my example with my leopard blouse. It’s not a t-shirt or a sweater, it’s more like a blouse, yet covers the butt if you tuck it (or tie a knot) only on the front.

Mid-Cover
SHOP MY BLOUSE
I like to wear my leather leggings with mid-cover blouses. It covers just enough to not feel uncomfortable, yet it shows a lot of my leggings. I find this the perfect option for nighttime. You can even wear it with a faux-fur coat.
With a Cardigan
This option is a mix of both before. You can show off a little more of your leggings, but the cardigan gets you covered.

With Crop Top (Yes! Crop Top)
This one is the most controversial. I hear “you never wear leggings with a crop top” a lot, but to be honest, I love this combination! It’s not for everyone, but definitely for me!
As a petit woman, this combination flattens me more than the “cover up” one, as it makes my legs look longer.
Besides, I’m an advocate of freedom in Fashion. I wear what I think looks good on me and respect what others are wearing, even if it’s not my style.
I think it’s about time to stop the “what not to wear” lists. There’s only one thing you should never wear: what doesn’t make you happy. Feel free to wear anything else, girl!
