We are back! I mean, patios are back! Finally we can enjoy our weekend brunches in Toronto after so many weeks confined at home. To be the first one of Summer 2020 we chose one of my favourites: Oretta.
I already wrote about it here on the blog, but this time was kinda different, we were experiencing a lot of good feelings: relief, joy, and of course, hunger, lol.
The first thing I noticed was they don’t have a paper menu anymore (to help stop the spread of Covid-19). Instead, you scan a QR code to access the dish list.
But not everything was different, you found some favourites on the menu, Like the Salmone Affumicato ($18), my choice this time. It’s a board that comes with smoked salmon, red onions, capers and hard boiled hens egg so you can mount your own sandwich the way you want.
Hubby ordered Uova Burrata e Tartufo ($19), with scrambled eggs, burrata, black truffle and toasted focaccia. Let him tell you what he thinks about that dish:
Something I love about Oretta is that they have their own coffee shop right beside the restaurant so, they can prepare amazing coffee as well. I ordered a cappuccino and I have to say it was at the same level as a good cappuccino you could get in Italy. So good and well balanced I didn’t have to add sugar.
And of course we had some mimosas too!
It’s so good to have our brunches back. I missed Toronto restaurants a lot during this quarantine and I hope we can all take care of ourselves (and others) so life can be back to normal as soon as possible.
