Everyone knows a place where the beer is good but the food is not so much, right? And we’re almost ok with it. It’s hard to be good at so many things at once.
But there’s a place in Toronto where you can go and be satisfied with beer and food. Well, more than satisfied.
My husband and I love the Amsterdam BrewHouse a bar/restaurant/pub in Waterfront, owned by Amsterdam Brewery.
There you can taste unique beers produced in the house. Actually, you can even take a free tour and learn how they make beer. If you’re interested, you can see the schedule and make an appointment on their website.
Last week we went there for lunch and, of course… beers!
It was not the first time we ate there but I never have tasted the salad before, as I was aways in the mood for a “pub dish” like fish and chips or hamburger. This time the weather was too hot and I preferred something lighter.
To my surprise, the salad was really good and now that I think about it I ask myself why I would expect it to be another way. But anyway, it was delicious.
When the waitress asked me if I would like to add salmon to my salad, I thought it would come with some fish flakes, but actually, they did bring me an entire salmon filet. At first I thought it would be too much food, but I ate everything. You know, if the food is good there’s no such thing as too much food, lol.
To drink I ordered a raspberry radler. Oh, my God, I’m so into radler this summer! You can feel it too sweet at the beginning but then you feel the beer taste and everything makes sense in your mouth. If you haven’t tried it yet, please do so!
Besides drinking there you can also buy beer to bring home. There’s a store just outside the restaurant where you can find some of their beers. You’ll not find all of them at the store because, for what they told us once, they produce some beers for the restaurant, if the market reception is good, then they produce more to sell on the store.
And if you’re curious about the raspberry radler I had, yes, you can find it in the store!
