You all know I love brunch. So what’s a better way to start my birthday than having an amazing brunch at an amazing place?
Hubby and I bought the AGO Annual Pass, which allows us to visit the museum as much as we want for a year. And my birthday was the best day for our first visit.
So our brunch of choice was the Ago Bistro. We’ve had dinner there once, then we can say we already knew we would love the brunch.
They have a prix fixe menu ($35) that includes a small plate of pastry, a choice of main dish and a mimosa or mocktail. Of course we tried!
I loved the pastries ($10 if you order them separately). One came filled with almond cream and the other was plain, but with a fruit preserve aside. A wonderful way to start!
As the main dish I chose the hot smoked salmon ($23 if you order separately). It comes with well seasoned salmon over a potato rosti (yes, a genius idea!), onion pickles, carpes and dill. The combination of all of the ingredients amazed me.
My husband ordered the Pork Belly Eggs Benny ($23 if you order separately). It was a richer version of Eggs Benedict, with a succulent braised pork belly and caramelized onions. Of course, it included poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, but instead of English muffins you get a croissant. It comes with fries or salad.
Everything was delicious and the place was so modern and pretty. I love the colourful tables they have there. It makes a beautiful contrast with the food.
Of course, we will be back there a lot this year, as we plan to visit the museum as many times as we can.
