Cafe Landwer: you need to try their breakfast

Toronto Blog

I have seen Cafe Landwer so many times on my Instagram I almost could say I’ve been there! But as they don’t make reservations on weekends and they’re usually busy, we always posterdate our visit for the next weekend… and the next one… next… It was about time, right?

I now know why there’s all the hype. (Actually, as you’ll see at the end of this post, I can’t say I completely know the reason.) They serve an incredible breakfast/brunch.

My husband and I shared the Landwer’s Famous Breakfast for Two ($31.95) witch is a lot of food but at the same time not too much food (you know what I mean?).

It comes with eggs (any style you like), breakfast side salad, tuna salad, roasted peppers and feta, fresh avocado, labneh with cucumbers and za’atar, matbucha, tahini with salsa, roasted eggplant and tahini spread, Greek yogurt with granola blueberries & honey, beets salad, fruit jam, with a choice of white or multigrain bread. Yep, I know what you’re thinking!

Everything was delicious, but my favourite was the roasted eggplant and tahini spread. It resembles a babaganoush but with bolder flavour.

What I really liked about this breakfast is it seems like too much food but it’s enough to feel satisfied. Everything comes in a good sized portion so you can taste a lot of flavours without feeling you ate too much.

But as I mentioned, I don’t think I can really say now I know this place because when I got home I got a message telling me I should have tried their desserts, especially the rugelach. So that’s a promise: I’ll be back there to taste them and, of course, share my experience with you!
