Social distancing sucks. And the person (me) who is saying this to you is a classic introvert.
To be honest, the worst part is not not meeting people (I kinda like this, lol) but not going out as much as I want. And that made me realize I was wrong about myself.
I’m the kind of person who lives their lives to the fullest. I’m the girlfriend – and now wife – who forces my partner to get out of the home every weekend to do something new, who loves to try new activities (especially the weird ones) and s always looking for new places to eat in Toronto.
But now I realize it was an illusion. I’m not the super girl I thought that could make every single second of her life count. I’m a liar.
Maybe we never live our lives to the fullest. Even the most active person also has the bad habit of leaving a lot of things for tomorrow.
I work from home which is a dream come true for me. I always wanted to have total control over my time as it means the ultimate freedom. And I have it. The problem is that before my freedom I had so many plans for my time. It was like every day would be an adventure. And now my days are in front of my computer.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my life, I love my routines, my perfect desk at the perfect height, my coffee at the right temperature, my dog by my side. The problem is: I love it too much!
I always think about getting my laptop and going to work from a coffee shop, exploring the city for new photos… but I stay every day inside my perfect bubble.
Since the social distancing started, I’ve realized I didn’t live my life to the fullest. Now that my street walks are limited to walking the dog around the block, I have so many ideas to places to go, to photograph, to taste…
I hope this quarantine ends soon, but more than that, I hope I can finally retire the word tomorrow.
