I’m short. So short I don’t like to tell people my height. Growing up I kinda felt it like a disadvantage but with time (or maybe maturity) I started accepting myself and actually liking the way I am. What also helped me a lot was to understand some concepts that make all the difference when we put an outfit together.
Despite what people might say, there is a diversity of garbs that can take you along the fashion trends without wondering if your clothes don’t look right because of your height.
There might be some times when adjusting to the styles can be a little perplexing. That’s great, because who here doesn’t love a challenge. While hoping for your height to magically show some progress is quite impracticable, you can always turn to the fashion tips for the petite to know what to avoid on your list.
How can you steer clear of the wrong trends?
The answer lies in a few fashion advice that covers the subject of dressing for your height. From understanding what to keep away from to learn about the right vogue and profile, I have compiled a few valuable fashion tips for my petite dressers, which they can pick from my shop as well.
Go for the Cropped Styles:
Instead of loose, tunic tops try the cropped tops and styles that can help elongate your appearance. The tops can be a little baggy and paired with high-waisted shorts or pants as well. They can provide you with a trendy look without you having to worry about looking short.
Try Fitting Dresses:
Who doesn’t like oversized clothing? However, if the objective is to look at everything but short, you’ll need to make a few compromises. Instead of the saggy oversized dress, you should incorporate fitting dresses in your wardrobe. These can include satiny pantsuits, fitted t-shirts and leggings, wrap dresses that envelop your petite form, or fitted sweaters that are a must-buy for the winter’s collection.
Wear Straight-legged Jeans:
There’s no wardrobe with a couple of denim dangling in them. However, to complement your petite look, instead of drowning in the oversized denim, go for the straight-legged jeans. You can also opt for the ripped straight-leg fit, which will give you a shabby look that is so in fashion nowadays.
Get some Mini-skirts:
The longer or midi skirts are a beautiful piece of fashion – just not what you’re looking for when the purpose includes rounding out your outfit according to your height. Try the mini-skirts that hit just above the knee. You can pair them with a high-neck sweater or a crop top – and you just completed an arresting look!
Go for Fitted Turtlenecks:
Turtlenecks not only add essence to your style but are also a great idea to elongate your figure. Paired with jeans or leggings, turtlenecks can add length to your neck, which ends up impacting your overall appearance.
