We had already eaten Loaded Pierogi‘s food twice at home, but we had never been there before. So when they invited us to visit the restaurant, I was so excited because I knew the food would be delicious.
They serve the kind of food you want to eat on a very cold day to warm your soul. Sounds perfect for Toronto weather, right?
And the restaurant decoration reflects this comfort food vibe with dark wood furniture, black accents and yellow lights.
I ordered Montreal Smoked Meat ($ 15), which comes with – besides smoked brisket – caramelized onions, sour cream, cheese and other ingredients. It was superb! The meat was well seasoned, the cheese was melting all over the place and the pickles on the top gave an acid touch to all the creaminess of the dish.
Cris ordered Bacon, Saurkraut and “Oh Yeah” Bacon ($ 14) which obviously comes topped with bacon, lol. And the “yum factor” is the exact one you expect from a dish with bacon. What could go wrong, right? Actually I think it should be mandatory to have bacon on every single comfort food in the world!
We went to the Queen St W & Niagara St location, but you find Loaded Pierogi in other parts of the city, such as Union Station, for example. You can also order your food using Skip the Dishes app.
And by the way, they have a contest running right now and you can win an entire year of free pierogi! Check it out on their page.
