The only advice you need for choosing your perfect glasses

I have worn prescription glasses since I was 3. Yep, 3 years old. And no, I’m not gonna tell you my real age. Let’s just say I have a lot of experience with glasses ?.

I don’t remember my first glasses, but my mom always told me the story: she took me to a store to buy a pair and, among many frames I chose a big one that seemed too bold. She hated it.

She tried to persuade me to choose another one, but I had already made up my mind. The guy from the store told her it would be better to accept it because it would be hard to convince a such young child to wear glasses if they don’t like them. So my mother accepted her defeat.

From that time on I always had the final decision on my glasses and every year we came back to the store to change for a new bold one.

So when SEE eyewear invited me to try one of their glasses (#gifted) I got excited. The little girl inside me asked “really? can I choose anything I want? even a very bold one?”

I spent a little while in the store because I’m the kind of person who wants to try everything and be sure I found the most unique one. And that’s my first (and only one) advice on shopping for glasses: buy what your heart wants!

I know there are some trends, there are some classics… but at the end of the day you have to love the pair you choose because they’re gonna be your best friends. More than that, after so many years wearing them, glasses for me are an extension of who I am. If people don’t remember my name I’ll be recalled as “that girl with glasses” and better be recalled as “that girl with remarkable glasses”, right?

So I never ask for opinion or pay attention in trends, I know the best glasses are the ones I love. And after a lot of searching, the winner was this bold pink + transparent squared. If I want to be remarkable these are perfect for it, right?

What I love the most about it is that the pink colour is really bold, but the transparent complement makes its design lighter. It’s a perfect balance. I learned they were hand-made in France for the Sexy Spec collection, which is inspired by SEE Founder Richard Golden’s original retro style.

But I have to say, it was a tough choice as they have a lot of other colourful combinations and shapes. I love colourful things and I can not lie!
