Last weekend we finally went to Cabana Waterfront Patio – formerly known as Cabana Pool Bar – to find out why this place is so iconic in Toronto.
Well, maybe the experience was a little different than normal because of covid-19 but I think I can now check this box on my bucket list.
The major attraction is hands down the view. If you – like me – never get tired of Toronto’s skylines, you definitely have to go there! The bar sits on this huge deck with breathtaking views of the city.

There’s also a swimming pool (watch the video above), but unfortunately, due Covid-19 they’re limiting the number of people and we couldn’t get a reservation for that. Yes, we have to go back there.
The food was ok. I wouldn’t say it was not good, but you definitely pay the price for the view.
I ordered the Tuna Tartare ($24) which comes with avocado, sundried Tomato, pasilla yogurt, and fried shallots. It was good but, again, I had better ones at other local restaurants.

Hubby ordered Smoked Salmon & Chicory ($26). It comes with smoked salmon, whipped feta, soft boiled egg, curly endive with lemon vinaigrette.

Our table (we were if another couple) shared the Loaded Cabana Nachos ($23) with three cheeses, jalapeno, salsa, guacamole, chipotle sour cream and black beans. It was huuuuuge, so I definitely recommend it if you’re in a group.

The best thing to do there is to drink, for sure. It’s more a bar/club than a restaurant. We ordered a delicious sangria (Peach Berry Sangria $55) among everyone and for me it was the best part of our afternoon. Plus, we ordered some bottles of rosé, but who was counting?
Overall, going there was a great experience and, as someone who loves to experience new places in Toronto, it was a must. Go there if you enjoy great views, good service and an afternoon of laughs and wines with friends.
