Oh brunch… is there any better way to spend the weekend late mornings? Last Saturday we went to Earls for the first time despite always being curious about its beautiful patio set in one of my favourite areas in Toronto, the Financial District.
First of all, I have to say that I think that it’s the place with the safest covid-19 measures you’ve been so far. Before you enter the place they explain all the rules you have to follow and the path flow. When you sit at the table, they explain it again. I think that enforces everyone to follow the rules, as you can not say you didn’t get it.
We started if drip coffee and we live in times when it’s a plus to get it in proper cups, right?
They have Brunch Happy Hour on weekends and holidays, which makes their food and beverages very affordable. On the menu they don’t specify time limits for it so I guess it’s on all weekend long.
I ordered the Lobster + Prawn Benedict ($17.5 or $14 during HH), with two poached eggs, lobster + prawns, classic hollandaise, on toasted artisan bread with crispy potatoes. It’s like “classy meets diner”, lol, because, despite of coming with lobster, the portion of potatoes makes you feel like you’re in one of those classic diners. Delicious and fulfilling.
Hubby chose Eggs Benedict ($15.75 or $12 during HH) with two poached eggs, classic hollandaise, ham, toasted artisan bread, with crispy potatoes. A well done classic!
They offer you the option of paying without contact on the table over a QR Code system, which is very practical. Also, if you do so, you get 10% off!
